As the Asian automotive industry arises, the world major automakers re-arrange their resource in Asia. China has the advantage in the OE market and vehicle production, while Taiwan has the advantage in developing automotive components and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) industry. More business opportunities and mutual benefits will be generated if they combine their strengths together and cooperate closely.

    Technology Department of Ministry of Economic Affairs and mainland China's Taiwan Affairs Office are currently promoting a cross-strait "bridge project" in order to prompt the business cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and mainland China. Therefore, the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association and the Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium (TARC) organized " Conference on Cross-Strait Exchanges and Cooperation in Automotive Industry " from November 24 ~ 25 and “Intellectual Green Vehicle Achievements Exhibition” from November 23 ~ 24. They invited executives from mainland China automotive industry to come to have deep level of exchange with Taiwan's industries, including electric car industries, key automotive components industry and OEMs. These events are supported by China Automotive Industry Association and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.
